Question: If you hire a wedding planner does she then pay the vendors for you? Answer: You are financially responsible for paying the vendors, but one of the benefits of hiring a planner is that she can help coordinate that for you.

A: Most of your vendors will ask for a deposit upfront and have the balance due either shortly before the wedding on the day of. You can ask your planner if she'll take care of organizing all of that for you and letting you know when to write the checks. Don't forget, you'll also want to tip your vendors the day of the wedding. The easiest thing to do is to have the tip amount ready in an envelope ahead of time and ask the planner to distribute after the wedding.
