As summer rapidly draws to a close, kids are reluctantly getting ready to go back to school while many parents enjoy a long sigh of relief. With back to school on the brain for so many, we decided to make this week’s party picks school themed, in honor of all those families out there getting ready to start another school year adventure.
For those parents who are planning to send their kids back to school in style, you will want to take a look at this Back to School Apple Party featured on Just call me Martha. This party could likely encourage enthusiasm to go back to school for any youngster. A blackboard backdrop and back to school printables from Bird’s Party Shoppe make decorating for this party simple, yet adorable. Yummy apple pops, arithmetic cupcakes and edible pencils (how cute?!) really bring the school theme to life. If you are looking for unique entertainment for this party theme, consider hiring a puppet show to entertain guests.
This colorful and creative Back to School Bash from Not Just A Mommy is a great way for adults and kids to get together for a final summer play-date. The chalkboard table top complete with apple cupcakes, milk cartons, applesauce cups and graham crackers make for an A+ back to school snack spread. I love the brown paper bags with attached flash cards; it’s so nice when favors can pull double duty as party décor! Including Dr. Seuss books as decoration is a very cute idea (and they could also double as party favors). If you are planning a back to school party for younger kids inviting a storyteller to come and read a few of your child’s favorite books could be a fun and suitable activity for this party theme.
Our last school themed party pick is an ABC Baby Shower from Pink Pistachio. This alphabet themed shower is sophisticated yet playful. Darling alphabet cards are hung on a clothesline as décor while guests are asked to fill out clever Mad Libs with words of wisdom for the expecting couple. For a really unique entertainment idea you could consider bringing in an air brush t-shirt artist so guests could decorate personalized onesies for the future little one!
